I love this, your character gives the feeling of a tragic backstory. I'm guessing her magic got in the way of her pilot dream?

she's more of upset than tragic.
whenever she flew the air was fine so she was bestowed the title of 'aspiring pilot' but after engine malfunction in the middle of the desert she found out that it was her magic, not a sign. this made her feel disappointed and when she told everyone else they just joked about her being 'sandwitch'. after that no matter whatever she achieved, everyone only saw her as the joke of sandwich and 60 years later she finally had it and became a hermit.
